Pope Francis’s courtship arrived at the Santa María la Mayor Basilica after touring the streets of Rome from the Plaza de San Pedro, where the Mass of Exequias was held before about 200,000 people.

Finally, the coffin was sprayed with blessed water and the Salve Regina was prayed. The simple tomb of the Holy Father is located on the ground, with the only inscription “Franciscus” and prepared with a marble of Liguria, from northern Italy, the land where his grandparents were born that later emigrated to Argentina.
