One of the outstanding decrees, the Nº 055-2025 PCMestablishes the extension of the state of emergency in the province of Zarumillain the department of Tumbesfor a 60 -day period from May 5, 2025. This measure responds to the need to combat serious crimes such as illicit drug trafficking, smuggling, people trafficking, money laundering, arms trafficking and hired, among others. The national Police of Peru will continue leading the control operations of the internal order, with the support of the Armed forcesas stipulated in the decree. During this period, constitutional rights such as freedom of traffic, the inviolability of the domicile and freedom of meeting will be restricted.

In parallel, the Supreme Decree No. 056-2025-PCM expands the state of emergency in several districts of the provinces of Áncash, Cusco, Huánuco, La Libertad, Pasco, Piura and Tumbesaffected by the damage caused by heavy rains. This extension, valid for 30 days, seeks to guarantee the continuity of the response and rehabilitation actions in the affected areas.
