Possession of new lobbyists and members of the Indigenous Guard
This Thursday 24 and Friday, April 25, within the framework of the XI possession of the University Indigenous Cabildo, the Media Cultural Cake of the University of Quindío will host an important intercultural dialogue space: the “Minguear forum around ancestral medicine and its own governance in indigenous territories”.
The program, open to the entire community, will begin at 1 PM with the reception of invited delegations. From 5 pm, the central presentations of the forum will be given way. Bayardo Giménez, representative of the Pijao people, will open the conference cycle with his presentation “The Indigenous Guard: Community Protection and Resistance.” At 7 pm Clemente Arturo Jacanamijoy Mavisoy, of the Kamëntsá Inga people, will deepen the relationship between traditional governance and medicine. Subsequently, Carlos Jamioy will present his vision of medicine from Inga thought, and the academic day will culminate with the intervention of Jhon Ingilan, of the people of the pastures, about traditional medicine in academic contexts.
Possession
The program will continue on Friday, April 25 with the act of possession of new lobbyists and members of the Indigenous Guard. The day will begin at 9 am with breakfast, followed by an official harmonization and openness ceremony. At 11:30 am the interventions of the delegations will take place and, at noon, the delivery of badges will be carried out. The protocol act will culminate with a final harmonization before lunch. In Friday afternoon, the event will take a festive and cultural tone. From 2 pm traditional games will be developed, followed by musical and dance presentations, from 4 pm the day will conclude at 11 pm with nighttime rest. Finally, on Saturday, April 26, the meeting will close with a protocol farewell and thanks at 8 am, marking the end of a space dedicated to the recognition and strengthening of ancestral knowledge.
