On the occasion of the Book Day, the Provincial Council of Soria has organized a new edition of its traditional ‘Loose of Books’, an initiative that seeks to bring reading to the neighbors of the province in original and participatory way, turning public spaces into improvised outdoor libraries.
Throughout this morning, the provincial institution personnel have traveled different Sorian towns for Distribute specimens in public spaces of municipalities such as Calatañazor, Tera, San Gregorio, Matute de la Sierra, La Rubia, Almajano, Aldealseñor, Renieblas and Garray. The books have been strategically placed in banks, squares, parks and emblematic points of these locations, inviting passers -by to discover them by surprise.
Each specimen has a sticker with a direct and tempting message: “You can take this copy you have in your hands”thus encouraging whoever finds him to appropriate the book and enjoy his reading without any commitment. This symbolic action represents the freedom of reading and intends to eliminate barriers in access to written culture.
