On the occasion of the Diada de Sant Jordi, the former Cuban Exjection Laura Valenzuela will present and sign her book “Is this the freedom? Memories of a judge in Havana”, a revealing testimony about its passage through the Cuban judicial system and the toughest years of repression on the island.
In this work of memoirs, Valenzuela recounts how, with just 23 years, she was forced to impart justice under the rules of the regime, and how that experience, added to an indoctrinated childhood and a youth surrounded by acts of repudiation and arbitrary arrests, led her to raise her voice. Born in Havana in 1982 and currently resident in Madrid, Laura meets this book a personal promise: do not forget those who raised the voice for her when she could not do it.
