On the day of the Armed Forces is a meeting day between Spaniards, civil and military, with the objective of accentuating the knowledge that our society of its armed forces has, in accordance with the provisions of the Spanish Constitution and with the spirit of our Royal Ordinances.
On this day, it is also justice to recognize the work of our military who are far from their homeland, in operations abroad, integrated in the presence, surveillance and deterrence operations of our spaces of interest, and, in general, of all those who continue to serve our society, highlighting values such as the spirit of service, discipline or the sense of duty.
Our military demonstrates the commitment of Spain with international peace and security day by day, participating with our allies in deterrence and security, and projecting stability in those countries that are in circumstances of conflict or that overflow their abilities to achieve the necessary security so that their societies can develop all their potential with full freedom and normality.
-On the Day of the Armed Forces dates back to 1978 when it was established to carry out an institutional act that served as a tribute to the armies and the Navy and to promote knowledge and their integration into society.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host from 03 to June 8 the commemorative events of the Armed Forces Day.
The central act in Sant Cruz de Tenerife, chaired by SSMM Los Reyes, will take place on June 7, the Day of the Armed Forces.
