Among the milestones, the delivery of 100% of the 5 macrozones of the Fiber Optic (FON) project and the approval of new financial resources by the new directory for the deployment of 120 priority sites that are part of the 5G project.

A month after WOM’s departure from the chapter 11 and the of Chris Bannister to the company’s leadership, the company is pleased to announce important advances for the 5G project, national fiber optic fiber, improvements in network capacity at key stations of line 1 of the Metro. Also, for the quarter of this year and in coordination with the Navy of Chile, it prepares to visit Antarctica with the purpose of installing infrastructure and delivering to Chile the southernmost antenna in the country.

In relation to the National Fiber Optics Project (FON), WOM announces that it has completed the totality (100%) of the 5 awarded macrozonas, which correspond to 7,553 kilometers of fiber and the company has received the authorization of Subtel to the service operations. This project benefits 10 regions between Arica and Parinacota and Biobío, 161 communes and more than 2.5 million people in the country.

Also, the new directory of Wom Chile recently approved new financial resources for the deployment of a of 120 priority sites that are part of the 5G project. These sites will be deployed mainly in the northern part of the country due to the favorable climatic conditions. In relation to the process against CIADI, both have maintained a constructive and open attitude to dialogue.

With regard to connectivity on line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in 1 month the company has improved network capacity in seven stations: Central Station, Salvador, Santa Lucía, Pedro de Valdivia, La Moneda, Los Leones and Manuel Montt, and plans to reach 15 more in the coming months.

In 2024, with the support of the Association of Rural Municipalities (AMUR), the scholarship has already benefited 100 students.
