The Firefighters responded on to a forest that extended rapidly to dozens of acres and caused the closure of lanes from the Julian road.

The fire was initially reported around 1:30 pm near State Route 78 and San Felipe Road, according to California Fire Captain Robert Johnson. In three hours, the fire had reached 50 acres and was contained by 5%.

Johnson indicated that firefighters worked on a steep and rocky field, but at 4:30 pm were progressing. The teams on land were attended by aircraft to help contain the fire, Johnson added.

No threat was observed immediately and no injuries had been reported until 4:00 pm

Minutes after the fire was declared, the California road patrol agents closed both sides of the road in the area to help firefighters who went to the place, according to the CHP traffic records. A Sigalert was issued around 3:00 pm, and road closures were still in until 4:50 pm there was no more information available immediately.
