Zelle, the popular payment platform between individuals, is experiencing an interruption that is causing payment problems to some banks. The company attributed the problem to another company.
Downdector, which allows users to track interruptions, shows a sudden increase in the number of customers who report payment problems from Friday morning.
A Zelle spokesman confirmed the interruption in a statement to CNN.
“We are aware that some Zelle users in some financial institutions cannot use (the platform) at this time,” said the company. “We are diligently working with our partners to solve this problem as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Zelle users could see marked transactions such as” pending payments’ “.
Zelle spokesman declared CNN that the problem involves the FISVer payments, which provides services to some banks.
FISVER did not respond so far to a CNN consultation on the subject.
Downdector interruption reports began to decrease after reaching their maximum point in the late morning of this Friday.
Zelle did not indicate which banks in particular were affected by the interruption. However, Truist and Navy Federal Credit Union Downdector Users reported problems.
A Truist client complained in Downdetector that the payment of his rent was pending since Thursday night.
“I feel that my money is floating and nobody helps me or is responsible!” Said the user.
Before the CNN consultation, the representatives of several banks said that Zelle had to be communicated.
Bank of America spokesman Matthew Card confirmed that some clients are experiencing delays in sending and receiving certain payments.
“This is a problem related to the supplier that affects several banks. We are working with the supplier to restore the service as soon as possible,” said Bofa spokesman.
Zelle is used by Americans to exchange billions of dollars a day instantly.
Zelle is owned by Early Warning Services (EWS), co -ownership of large banks such as JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
