Zahorí, the new book by Orlando Chamorro, was presented in Iguazú

The missionary writer presented his fantastic horror composed of four stories and a short novel that recounts the life of Lucio Reyes, a water search engine.

This morning, in the Multipurpose Hall of the Iturem of Puerto Iguazú, the fifth book by the writer Orlando Chamorro, a member of the Airport Security Police (PSA), who found in the literature his true passion was presented. On this occasion, the book entitled “Zahorí. Chronicles of a rhabdomant” belongs to the genre of fantastic terror and recounts the paranormal experiences of Lucio Reyes, its protagonist, from an event that marked his life: a close encounter with after being reached by lightning while looking for tangerines.

The work manages to capture the care of the reader not only for its captain narrative, but also because, as in all its previous works, Chamorro seeks to leave a deep mark on each reader, promoting values ​​such as friendship and rescuing myths and legends of the Guaraní people, as the emblematic “Yaguareté Abá”. It should be noted that some of their previous stories have been used as a didactic material in primary schools in the , and this new book is especially recommended for adolescents for its focus on terror with fantastic elements.

During the presentation, Chamorro remarked that Zahorí also seeks to revalue the ancient profession of the Zahoríes or Pozeros, people with the gift of finding water, or other elements hidden under the earth. “Lucio Reyes is a character that represents many men who, despite having been persecuted and misunderstood in other times, have a highly valued gift today in various areas of missions,” said the author.

As for the content, Chamorro explained that the stories revolve around the life of a former employee of the province who chose to settle in the 2,000 hectares of Iguazú, although the stories take place in different missionary locations. From there, the protagonist revives fragments of his past marked by supernatural events that to manifest after the impact of lightning.

Zahorí is the fifth book of the author and combines a series of stories with a short novel. It was written over approximately two years, and several of the stories were written in parallel while concluding his previous work, the diffuse threshold, published in 2024. This new installment leaves open the possibility of a continuation, although for the moment, the author has not confirmed if there will be a part.
