The Local Police of Valencia has arrested four young people on Sunday, between 18 and 20 years of age, accused of a group sexual assault on a girl around a well -known disco located on the Cabanyal beach.
The four detainees denied the facts and stated that the sexual relationship they held in a group were consented to by the victim, but this denies it and said they handled it on the beach against their will.
A girl’s friend denounced the facts to a local police patrol that passed through the place. Apparently, the four young people, from La Rioja, took the girl to the beach, where they practiced touching. The victim was approached by the group when he left the disco.
The arrests took place early this Sunday. It was 7.26 hours. After receiving the warning of a group sexual assault, several patrols of the Safety, Support and Prevention Unit (USAP) and the seventh unit (Maritime Reten) of the Local Police of Valencia urgently moved to the place to help the victim and look for the aggressors.
After a search operation with the data provided by the victim and a friend, a local police patrol located them shortly after at the tram stop on Tarongers Avenue. The agents identified the four young people and arrested them after informing them that they were accused of a crime of sexual aggression.
As is usually the case in most cases of group violations, the versions of the detainees and the victim are very different. The suspects admitted that they had been with the young woman on the beach and also recognized the touching, but insisted that she would have consented them. However, the victim said they handled her against her will.
The local police officers interviewed the complainant and their friend in order to collect all the necessary data to carry out the corresponding proceedings. In addition, they took the girl to a medical center in compliance with the protocol established for cases of sexual aggression.
The four young people detained were transferred to the central inspection of Guard (ICG) in the Zapadores complex, where the scientific police took their footprints. The family and women’s care unit (UFAM) of the National Police of Valencia took over the investigations. The victim was recognized in the Gynecology Service of a Valencia Hospital, since he denounced a fingers with his fingers by one of the aggressors.
