An Argentine family suffered a tragic road accident In the Los Ríos region, Chile, while returning to the country. A girl died in the place and three other people were injured.
As reported by Infobae, the fate of the family was the international passage Hua Hum, which connects that area of Chile with the Neuquina town of San Martín de los Andes.
The incident occurred at approximately 7 in the morning. The truck in which the family was traveling was clueless and overturned in the vicinity of the Malihue bridge, in the direction of Panguipulli. According to an official report of the Los Lagos Fire Department, the vehicle first hit a containment barrier and then against an old pillar of the bridge.
Unfortunately, a girl died in the place. The other three occupants of the vehicle, two adults and a minor Argentines, resulted in injuries of different consideration and were transferred to the Los Lagos hospital.
An Argentine family overturned from Chile
The authorities consider that the dense fog that affected the section of the Malihue bridge at the time of the accident, and that it greatly reduced visibility, is a possible factor that contributed to the driver to lose control when facing the curve.
After the accident, an important rescue operation was deployed on route T-39. They worked in the place of rescue units of the Fire Department of the Lagos, together with personnel of the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAMU) from the bases of Los Lagos and Panguipulli.
The Panguipulli Fire Vehicle Rescue Unit also participated, and Fire Bodies of Malalhue and Valdivia remained on alert, although their intervention was not necessary.
The Chilean Public Ministry intervened in the case and instructed the Traffic Accident Research Section (SIAT) of Carabineros to take care of the expertise and determine the exact circumstances that caused this fatal event.
From the Fire Department of Los Lagos, they expressed their deep regret through a statement on social networks: “We deeply regret the loss of a life in this tragic accident and extend our most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim, all with nationality of Argentina, which was the fate of return by the hua hum.”
Given the conditions that occurred during the Sinestro, the local authorities reiterated the call to circulate with extreme caution in the area. Especially during the first hours of the day, climatic conditions can severely affect visibility in this region of Chile.
