A joy day was lived this Wednesday, April 30 at the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Radiation therapy “Pdte. Dr. Néstor C. Kirchner”, with the end of treatment for two oncological patients, of Chlorinda and Capital.
This is Ramón Prieto and Claudia Duarte, who were accompanied by family and friends, fundamental support in all medical treatment.
In addition to touching the bell, there was time for the dance, as an offering of thanks for all the medical personnel who provide services in this public center, unique in the Argentine Northeast.
Ramón, visibly excited, told the Formosa news agency (AGENFOR) That he felt very well attended by both doctors, nurses and to touch the bell, as a symbol of the end of his treatment, is “how to get to the goal” in a race.
“This possibility exists in Formosa, it is not necessary to move to another province, it is an achievement that we have as a province. I thank God,” he said.

Meanwhile, Claudia, who is health personnel at the Cruz Felipe Arnedo de Clorinda hospital, provided a valuable testimony, while thanking the Formoseño health system for allowing him to perform all his treatment in Formosa, avoiding uprooting.
In dialogue with AGENFOR He said that once the diagnosis of breast cancer was received, he evaluated all the possibilities to face his treatment, including Buenos Aires. “As a health agent I know that we have the best we can have, in our province and what better than being accompanied by relatives,” he said.
“It is an example and a luxury what we have here, we have a PET, a tomography where the entire body is analyzed and you know where there are cancer cells. In Buenos Aires you need a six -month shift, here we have it in the province, when the oncologist decides it,” he expanded.
After touching the bell, he said he felt happiness for “finishing another stage, so whole, emotionally and physically, and what to say with the accompaniment of the whole family.”

A significant milestone
Among all the medical staff who participated in this emotion, was the doctor Lucas Stringer, a specialist in radiotherapestic oncology of the institution, who pointed out that the bell touch is a “significant milestone in the evolution of the patient’s disease” that crossed a long process, from the initial diagnosis.
In the case of the institution, he pointed out that “the treating service we are happy to help patients to complete their treatments in time and form.”
He explained that radiotherapy is a treatment that is part of the therapeutic arsenal that is now available for cancer treatment and pointed out that the center is unique in the NEA, due to the complexity of the treatments it offers.
He also said that patients arrive at the center, after the medical derivation and appropriate diagnosis, and there is an articulated approach between all specialties.
As for the costs, he said that these are expensive treatments. “Depending on the coverage, patients who come by the Ministry, the province completely covers the treatment and then each social work has different agreements with the center and cover the treatments for that,” he said.
