One more year, the national Association of Bullfighting Shows Organizers (ANOET) presents its statistical report corresponding to the season 2024a detailed study of the celebrations held in our country that re -throws interesting data that demonstrates the important bullfighting activity that is recorded throughout the national territory.
The total figures of this study are overwhelming and perhaps the most relevant is that of the more than 6.2 million viewers that attended bullfighting celebrations in 2024. Again it can be verified that bullfighting has a huge roots in our towns and cities with more than 19 thousand popular celebrations that were held in 2024 in front of the 1,546 celebrations held in bullring. The total is 20,950 celebrations
For typology of celebrations, those held in Plaza highlight the bullfights, 392 in total, followed by the chopped bullfights (306), the bullfights without itchors (298), the festivals (214) and, finally, the celebrations of rejones, 134 in total. Most of these shows were held in third category places, 780, followed by the 548 held in portable squares, 188 that were scheduled in seconds of second and 158 in first places.
Communities segmentation replaces Valencia at the head with 9,194 celebrations, in what has to do with the important presence of popular celebrations in this region. They follow him Aragon with 2,853 and Castilla León with 2,278 and Castilla La Mancha con 1.566. Navarra, Madrid and Andalusia, Por this order, complete the list of communities with the greatest presence of the bullfighting.
According to the data managed, in the celebrations held in bullring, a total of 8,387 cattle were dealt with, most of them in bullfights, 2,353 in total, compared to 1653 that were dealt with stickers with choppers and the 1,537 bullfights without horses.

Panel 2 of this statistical study allows to visualize the analysis of the season by communities and consult concrete locations of each of them. It is possible to locate the presence of bullfighting activity in each community and, for example, know how many celebrations were held in a specific town.
In the same way, it is possible through the tool used to present this report by analyzing by the typology of celebration in each of the autonomous communities. See, for example, the map of bullfights held in Spain in the year or the bullfighting or grinding festivities.
Comparative
This global vision of the presence and importance of bullfighting in our country is completed with comparative paintings and curves that allow to verify the evolution of the last 15 years, from 2010 to 2024. In the global computation the figure of pre-pandemic celebrations is exceeded and are located above 20,000, exceeding the year 2024 to the previous one in number of celebrations.
The comparison indicates that the descending line of celebrations in the square that is registered between 2010 and 2019 is followed by a rebound after the years of pandemic that places the number above the 1,500 celebrations in the last two years, although in 2024 there is a slight decrease in those held in the square, just 1.34%. Anoet is the only entity of the bullfighting sector that has the prestigious AENOR quality seal, which supports him in the certification of celebrations.
