Chicago (AP)-Ian Happ connected a home run and promoted three races, helping Matthew Boyd and the Chicago Cubs to win 9-2 on Monday to the messy San Francisco Giants.
Carson Kelly also went deep to open the sixth entry of five Chicago races with a lone home run, his eighth of the season. Happ added a high sacrifice and Seiya Suzuki promoted two more races with a single.
Boyd (3-2) launched six tickets allowing two races while the leaders of the Central NL won for the fourth time in five games. The left -hander struck out seven and did not grant balls by balls.
The Dominican Campocorto of San Francisco, Willy Adames, and the third winning base of five gold gloves, Matt Chapman, each made two mistakes, contributing to six dirty races for Chicago at the beginning of a series of three games.
The Venezuelan Luis Matos connected a two -run homer to tie the game for the giants in the fourth entrance, but the CUBS responded with two races in the lower part.
