Coslada starts an innovative cycle of meetings with writers of recognized prestige called ‘Thus the books are born’. The prologue to the cycle was the recording of a literary Póstcast on April 23, on the occasion of the Book Day.
This sound episode is followed by five monthly physical encounters with express workshop format, taught by authors and authors of different literary genres. They focus on literary creation, with attention to different genres and approaches, and seek the active participation of the public.
The objective of the cycle is to meet the authors, establish an open dialogue with them and their work, and that in turn discover the assistants the keys to creation in their writing discipline.
The sessions are held in the Luisa Carnés Library at 7:00 p.m., they are open to young and adult audiences, and do not require prior registration.
Clara Morales
The cycle opens tomorrow, May 7, the author Clara Morales (Badajoz, 1989), writer, journalist and librarian. His first book, I hardly remember (Transit, 2024), is a volume of stories with memory as a conductive thread. They are almost always starring stories by women, whose voices range between the past and the present, to compose a collective memory of a forgotten part of society.

Alejandro Morellón
On June 4, Alejandro Morellón (Madrid, 1985) will be counted. He has published the books of stories the night we fall, the natural state of things, the novel horse is the night and the poems a foreign God. His last work, the worst possible scenario (Fulgencio Pimentel, 2022), is a book of stories that twist the literary canons of the genre with a good dose of black humor. For Alejandro Morellón “writing means delving into the complexity of everyday life.”
Alejandro Morellón has received numerous awards: Monteleón Award, Gabriel García Márquez Award, Ignacio Aldecoa Award. Euskadi Award, Setenil Award, among others, and has been selected by the International Magazine Granta as one of the twenty -five best young writers in Spanish in the world.
Silvia Hidalgo
On September 18, the cycle will be resumed with the presence of Silvia Hidalgo (Seville, 1978). Tusquets Award for nothing to say (Tusquets, 2023), the story of a woman in crisis that also speaks of anxiety for social success, desire and anger. She is also the author of me, Lie (Transit, 2021), a brilliant novel about the search for identity.
