MADRID 6 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
General Nitzan Alon, who is in charge of the army negotiations for the release of hostages kidnapped by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, has alerted Tuesday that the new plan of the Israeli authorities to expand military operations in the Palestinian enclave could cause greater “violence” against hostages.
Alon has indicated that the idea of implementing new operations endangers those who are kidnapped in Gaza, who are already in a situation in itself “difficult” and that is getting worse, according to information collected by the Channel 12 news channel 12.
Thus, he has criticized the management of war by the government of the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and has reaffirmed the population’s concerns about the expansion of operations and the possible consequences of a plan that seeks to “conquer” the Gaza Strip.
“The stronger the army hit, the more violent the terrorists will be with our hostages, who are still captive,” Alon said in relation to the Israeli security cabinet plan, which seeks to displace the Gazati population towards the south.
His words arrive after Monday, the Israeli security cabinet unanimously approved the so -called Operation ‘Gideon Carros’ to extend their military activities and take control of the territories. The objective is to achieve the “absolute” defeat of Hamas, as explained by the government.
