On the morning of this Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the Attorney General’s Office reported that the appointed man of abusing four 3 -year -old children at the Canada F Children F, located in San Cristóbal, southern Bogotá, was captured.
“In a joint action of the Attorney General’s Office and the Sijin of the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá, the man who would be involved in the sexual abuse of minors in a children’s home in the town of San Cristóbal, in southern Bogotá was captured,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigating body added that “man will be presented to a guarantee control judge and, in response to the material evidence collected, will be charged with the crimes of abusive sexual act and abusive carnal access with under 14 years, among others.”
The man indicated by these facts was identified as Fredy Arley Castellanos Velasco, 39. This man was arrested by uniformed from the national Police Sijin, with support from the CTI of the Attorney General’s Office.
-The arrest warrant was requested before a judge with guarantee control function in the afternoon of May 5, when the news was known at the national level.
Within this arrest warrant have been accredited, so far, by the Prosecutor’s Office, at least three victims. Legal Medicine is carrying out the corresponding exams to determine whether the minors were victims or not of this man.
Fredy Arley Castellanos will be transferred to the Judicial Unit, will be presented before a guarantee control judge, his capture will be legalized, the aforementioned charges will be charged and the judge will decide if he dictates a measure of the private assurance of liberty.
The Colombian Family Welfare Institute ordered in the last hours the preventive closure of this children’s home located in the Villa Javier neighborhood. This garden, although it is operated by a private, is guarded by the ICBF. The closure was given by the complaints of possible sexual abuse by this man, who worked in the children’s home.
