On May 6, the price of gasoline imported in the Singapore market was 74.97 USD/Barril for RON 95 gasoline, a decline of more than 1.87 USD/Barril compared to 3 days ago; Ron 92 gasoline is 73.46 USD/Barril, a fall of more than 1.7 USD/Barril. Therefore, it is likely that the internal prices of gasoline continue to go down during the morning adjustment period.
Specifically, gasoline prices are expected to decrease between 400 and 550 VND/Litro and those of the diesel between 600 and 750 VND/liter. If the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Ministry of Finance jointly use the stabilization fund, gasoline prices could lower more.
In addition, the owner of a gasoline distribution business in the north also predicted that gasoline prices will continue to fall in the morning management period. On May 7, discounts on gasoline in some warehouses were 1,450 to 1,700 Vnd/Litro.
According to forecasts, domestic gasoline prices RON 95 will decrease during two consecutive sessions after a single increase. Currently, the price of this fuel is still at its lowest level in the last 4 years, equivalent to May 2021. Since the beginning of the year, RON 95 gasoline has increased 9 times and has decreased 9 times. The price of diesel increased 8 times, decreased 9 times and remained unchanged once.

In the world market, oil prices have recently decreased due to the cautious feeling of the market before the OPEC+ meeting (organization of oil and allied export countries) about production policy, along with concerns about the world’s economic recession.

The rebound was promoted by a series of positive factors, including indications of greater demand in Europe and China. In addition, oil production in the United States showed signs of decrease, since some companies announced the reduction of the number of drilling platforms due to low oil prices, according to Reuters.
Oil prices were also backed by tensions escalation in the Middle East and a weaker US dollar. In addition, the forecasts of a decrease in US crude oil inventories also contributed to boost prices, helping the market to recover after a series of deep falls due to the increase in OPEC+production.
