Wmagazín presentation 2025 is a year in which several publishers celebrate round anniversaries: five, ten, fifteen, twenty or twenty -five. Small and independent seals that have contributed to the renewal of the book ecosystem, to its bibliodiversity, to expand the territory of literature with literary bets and to beautify the image of the sector not only in its background, with authors and themes, but also, with its careful designs that enhance the book as an object.
Wmagazine It thanks to all of you are editorials in Latin America and Spain that contribute to making readers happier and help improve the world from literary creation with books that provide pleasure, knowledge, company, refuge and beauty. They have done so in this 21st century that it has been like a roller coaster for the sector, at a time of continuous reconfigurations and reinventions, because of the economic crisis and the irruption of the digital world that retired a centenary business model in which it was announced, many times, the end of the paper book and what has happened is the opposite.
We start a series with some of those publishers who are partying asking those responsible which are the five most significant books of their stamp. We open this trip with King Naranjo, From Colombia, and its fifteen years: “We are an independent publishing house. We believe in the power of the books and in that of its readers,” this Bogota editorial founded by John Naranjo and Carolina Rey.
We started the series from the 37th International Book Fair of Bogotá (Filbo) 2025, from April 25 to May 11. Welcome to the world of King Naranjo through emblematic books and that define their philosophy:
Five books in fifteen years
John Naranjo
During this time, we wrote on our website, “we have published more than a hundred titles of various themes, with the main purpose of creating essential books, due to their literary and graphic quality, that our readers want to keep in their libraries forever. Thus, our publications range from the novel, the story and the essay, through the comic and children’s literature, even practically unclassifiable pieces.
Ours are books designed from innovation for their conceptual development, for the possibilities of expansion in the Colombian and global market, and for its theme and graphic conception. We are defenders of the quality in the design of our books and some flag bearers of the original creative content. ”
Rey Naranjo Editores was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in March 2010. That year they predicted the death of the physical book for 2015. Three five years have passed and the book is still alive and present as a bridge between thought and culture. After more than 200 books edited under our seal, it is necessary to pause and present the five books that have marked us as editors.

Prologue by Ricardo Soca (Fragment)
In the same way as in a life – we learn over the years – many lives fit, also in a word many words fit. Every word, no matter how much we use it with the carefree that gives the everyday, drags, in reality, an ancient history of changes, evolutions and mutations; of adventures and trips; of hatred and loves; of conquests, struggles and invasions; of cultural contacts and commercial exchanges; of forgetfulness, disappearances, and reappeARditions. As with everyday miracles, the strength of custom makes many speakers have already lost the capacity for astonishment and fascination with the miracle of language, which today only dazzles us, wonder and embelsals when, at the beginning of life, the baby is acquiring, with effort and pleasure, the first words: mom, dad, tete, water, nene, no. But this fascination of the parents before the first words of their son lasts little. Then we let ourselves be won by the tedium of the routine, the charm of the new fades, and no one is admired more than that same child, then adult, continues to acquire constantly, and by thousands, new words that allow him to express the world he perceives around him, the feelings that sprout inside, and the ideas and thoughts that he elaborates
