The writer Juan José Millás writes in his new book, ‘That fool is going to write a novel’ (Alfaguara), about religion, guilt or metaphysics and in that sense he has pointed out that the debates about whether the next Pope will be conservative or more progressive are “absolutely artificial”, and then point out that Francisco was “super -realio” and the institution of the church, “medieval”.

For Millás, the arrival of Donald Trump to the United States government has put “humanity” in general in general, although he has recognized that he does not worry how he may affect culture because he has always lived in “situations of scarcity.”

In ‘that fool is going to write a novel’, the author reflects on the trade of writing through himself, who becomes a character here, and accepts the commission of making his last great journalistic report in an attempt to find the perfect theme with which to “close” his career. However, Millás has assured that in real life has not yet found or received that report with which to close.

“Journalism is, worldwide, in survival mode”
Although in the novel the writer exalts journalism, in reality he has pointed out that the profession is in “mode of survival”, although not only in Spain.

In that sense, Millás has concluded ensuring that he does not know if there is “hope” for journalism, and has joked saying that a person who is now in the faculty knows that he has made “a bad choice.”
“I always thought, before the crisis (of journalism), that someone who wanted to be a journalist should do another career other than journalism. And bring that knowledge to journalism. Not so much just in case, as if journalism is learned doing it.
