The international agency celebrated 10 years in Chile and highlighted the role of Pacheco as a former Minister of Energy, both in its support to settle in the country, and in its contribution to the long -term energy policy.

Within the framework of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the World Energy Council Chile (Wec Chile), the President of the Codelco Board of Directors, Máximo Pacheco, received two distinctions from that organization: Promotor Institution, for his role in the promotion of Wec Chile creation in his period as Minister of Energy (2014-2016), and the prize Leadership and visionin recognition for its contribution to the long -term energy policy installed in the country.

“I deeply appreciate this recognition. It has been an honor to contribute, from the public , to an energy transformation with focus on a cleaner, competitive, efficient and sustainable matrix for Chile. The energy policy we was the of dialogue, conviction and commitment of a country that understood that the and care of the environment can go hand in hand, “said Máximo Pacheco after the meeting.

Wec Chile celebrated a decade of in Chile in a ceremony in which about 200 attendees participated and the former energy ministers of the decade participated. In the activity, the CEO of the World Energy Council (Wec), Angela Wilkinson, spoke with Claudio Sebach, former executive president of generators of Chile and current dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of the University Adolfo Ibáñez, about the role of Chile in the global energy transformation, among other subjects.

Wec is a -based global network that more than 3,000 organizations in more than 80 countries. Its is to promote an inclusive, sustainable and centered energy transition, gathering leaders from the public, private and academic sector to address the country’s energy challenges.
