Andrea and her partner have been living in the area of the Pla. They decided to move to one of their urbanizations, overlooking the walk, for the tranquility and comfort of the neighborhood. The tram line that connects with the center is one of the incentives, in addition to the proximity to the hospital and the gardens.
This young Alicante already knew the area since years ago, an incentive that encouraged her to reside in the neighborhood. However, since its perception has become a neighbor. “The boulevard, especially the area of the Garbinet plot, has worsened,” he laments. “There is more crime.”
One of the last examples that recounts the battle that was lived this last Sunday in the middle of the walk, leaving twelve detainees, four injured and a Catana intervened. It was about 8 pm when the fight between dozens of young magnapis and Spanish on the PLA Boulevard.

The call of several citizens to the CIMACC Room of 091, warning about a brawl that was taking place among several individuals carrying blunt objects, originated a rapid police deployment through the place of the national Police service units with the support of the Local Police of Alicante.
Upon arrival, the troops observed a multitude of individuals who were fighting each other, who appreciate the presence of the agents tried to flee and hide to evade police action.
Andrea was one of the neighbors who, from her window, appreciated the facts. «I was at home when, suddenly, I started listening to many shouts. People shining. I looked at the window and I saw a rather large group of teenagers. I didn’t understand what was happening, ”he recalls from the day.

“We will not allow these Events to happen again”
The spokeswoman for the Government team of the City of Alicante, Cristina Cutanda, thanked the rapid performance of the National Police and Local Police agents in Sunday’s brawl on the PLA Boulevard. “We are not going to allow these events to happen again,” he said before clarifying that “we consider that Alicante is a safe city and we will not allow this type of violence.” It should also be remembered that the National Police acts and struggles to end this type of incidents in the city and the province. In this case, both bodies coordinated a rapid deployment to cordon off the area in order to avoid the flight of the members in the brawl, managing to neutralize and control the situation. Among other police actions, the arrest of two people stands out for their alleged relationship with the death of a young man who was injured by a white weapon during a fight in an area near the General Hospital of Alicante.
As he says, in a few minutes, national and local police officers arrived, and he congregated even more people, as if they were spectators. «I saw how one of the kids who were fighting was bent down in the hedges and took a stick … It was a catana! I was completely surprised ». He also remembers seeing how a helmet flew between the crowd and fell on the tracks of the Tram.

Likewise, this neighbor of the area indicates that residents of her community, for the WhatsApp chat, said in conversations held at these moments that some of those involved in the fight took refuge in a park located in the rear streets of the Paseo del Boulevar del Pla.
More altercations and night dread
The brawl that resulted in twelve detainees, being eight of them minors, is not the only altercation lived by this Alicante and its neighbors. “Last year, during the bonfires, I saw how two boys threw fireworks in the form of a wand, pointing between them.” Andrea remembers how the people who walked through the area “running.”
“The boulevard has become a conflicting zone,” laments this neighbor, which also denounces the insecurity caused by the adolescents around the vegetation and shrubs. “They are very leafy and at night they are filled with kids, you don’t know what they can have hidden,” he says thinking about the Catana intervened last Sunday.
This neighbor also appreciates the police presence in the neighborhood. “The police come on a motorcycle and circulates even inside the walk.” In his case, he acknowledges that “I always usually avoid the Garbinet stop,” since from his home you can hear and when he looked “I have seen more than once agglomerations of adolescents leaving the institute and ending punching on the roads of the Tram.” In short, “lately there is more tension in the neighborhood,” he concludes.
