The American Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) exporter, Cheniere Energy, reported on Thursday an increase in its GNL income during the first quarter, driven by a greater demand for this superenfragrated fuel and the increase in natural gas prices.
LNG, or liquefied natural gas, is natural gas cooled to become liquid for transport.
The United States became the main world exporter of LNG in 2023, surpassing Australia and Qatar, and won even more impulse after President Donald Trump lifted in January a moratorium on new export permits.
-Cheniere said that the increase in income was driven by the highest prices of natural gas.
The informed quarter included an impulse of 725 million dollars for the increase in the prices of LNG contracts linked to Henry Hub and 428 million dollars for stronger short -term marketing sales, in the middle of high global gas prices of gas, according to the company in a statement.
The company reported LNG revenues of 5.310 million dollars for the three months finished in March, compared to 4,040 million dollars registered in the same period of the previous year.
