Our work is to promote and teach it, ”explained Carlos Domecq, president of the young farmers in the Ructl and Livestock, along with his father and brothers, from Santiago Domecq. Precisely, just over a week ago, the Royal Union participated in Sicampo, an event organized by all the institutions that make up a rural alliance, whereby personalities of Queen Doña Sofía passed. Pilar Mercader, an amateur young man, thus saw the current situation of bullfighting: «The idea of the future we have is a bit pessimistic, and I don’t see it that way. There are many accounts in social networks and it is being seen how youth are joining ».
Jarocho saw that these challenges can be beneficial: «The censorship we are suffering will make bullfighting have a greater union we have ever had. Now many young people go to the squares and it is important that they become good fans. Youth has the virtue of rebellion: «If they are going to criticize us, we will give us the same because we are going to fight for what we want. The squares are being filled because young people stand for censorship, ”said Pilar Mercader. And that rebellion must know how to use a hobby.
To bring bullfighting to young people, it is necessary to teach it, as Victor Barrio said, and if possible from childhood. Domecq knows it well, who has been lucky enough to grow in livestock and have lived it since childhood: “I don’t remember when it was the first time I went to a place, but I had a very happy childhood lived around the countryside and the bull.” Therefore, he is a defender of promoting the field, “because it is essential to understand the party.” Carmen Rojí, a Catalan fans who knows the party since childhood for speaking in Andalusia, shared an opinion with Carlos: “We would have to bring the field closer to that young hobby, because it is essential to understand it so that people get fondling, because being bullfight is being an environmentalist.”
While the Burgos bullfighter was born in a family of bullfighters, Samuel Navalón had to be self -taught at the beginning: «In my family the bull was an unknown thing. The attraction of young people is fine, but understanding that the fundamental thing is bullfighting, ”explained Carlos Domecq. Mercader and Samuel agreed: «The initiatives to bring young people closer are welcome, but with a control».
On the growth of the fans, there is only one to look at a bullfighting school: «There are more and more children. The children’s schools with the illusion of wanting to be bullfighters are full. And it is essential to teach what bullfight is and create fans, ”said Navalón.
