Los Angeles (USA), May 8 (EFE) .- The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Thursday that superproductions such as the popular series of James Bond’s British films have nothing to fear before the tariffs that Washington studies to file foreign films to boost Hollywood.
“The money comes from here. Everything comes from here, but they do them in other countries. So we are going to do something to return, perhaps to a large extent. But James Bond has nothing to worry about,” said the president while offering details in the Oval Office of the Commercial Pact reached between the United Kingdom and the USA ..
Trump added that the question of tariffs on foreign films will be discussed separately and insisted that these levies will have the objective of revitalizing the Hollywood industry.
“We are going to apply some tariffs to come, because many of them have left this country. They all live here,” he said.
The president announced last Sunday that he would impose tariffs of 100 % to foreign films, but the White House clarified the next day that there is still no firm decision and that it is working on agreeing on a framework that meets the directives of the US President. EFE
