Political action, mainly driven by the UDI, points out the alleged responsibility of Durán in the tragedy of April 10 in the vicinity of the Monumental stadiumwhere two fans of Colo Colo, 12 and 18 years old died.
-Francisco Cox, graduated from Diego Portales University and with a master’s degree at Columbia University School of Law, has an outstanding career in human rights cases. His experience covers both the national and international level, which positions it as a key defender for Durán in this process.

The constitutional accusation responds to the accusations against Durán for Not having implemented adequate security planning during the match between Colo Colo and Fortaleza. The opposition, led by Chile Vamos, wrote the libel with the intention of removing the delegate from his position.
Thus, COX will contribute its international expertise to the defense. He was appointed by the Inter -American Commission on Human Rights to investigate the disappearance of 43 students in Mexico and represented victims of the guerrillas in Uganda before the International Criminal Court, being the only Chilean lawyer in litigating in that court.
Despite the pressure of the opposition, Durán maintains his optimistic position.
It should be noted that Cox also has previous experience in the defense of constitutionally accused government authorities. In 2023 he served as the defender of the then Minister of Education, Marco Antonio Ávila. That AC against the holder of the portfolio was finally rejected.
