Trainers for hunting pilots, helicopters, ships, armored vehicles, projectiles and ammunition. These are some of the Armament programs that the government plans to promote with the new defense and security plan approved on Tuesday by the Council of Ministers … with a total amount of 10,471 million euros.
Beyond the general lines of the government president, Pedro Sánchez, in his appearance in the Moncloa Palace, the content of the plan allows to know some details of the purchases provided by the Ministry of Defense to reinforce and modernize the capabilities of the Armed Forces and, with it, reach this year 2 percent of the gross internal product (GDP) in military investment.
The 10,471 million euros announced by the Government are distributed in five major areas: Improvement of the conditions of the members of the Armed Forces, Communications and Cybersecurity, Armament Programs, capacities against natural catastrophes and missions abroad.
The most large is the first, with more than 3.7 billion euros, although only 679 million are destined to improve the remuneration of members of the Armed Forces and an increase in the number of troops.
In addition, the plan includes the acquisition of multiple capacities related to communications, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, exceeding 3.2 billion euros.
New programs
These are Some of the acquired acquisition programs In the so -called ‘Industrial and Technological Plan for the Strengthening of Security and Defense’:
– training plane for hunting pilots: It is one of the most urgent priorities of the Air and Space Army. With 275 million euros, the plan includes the acquisition of between 28 and 30 aircraft and a comprehensive land training system.
– Multipurpose light Helicopter for Training: 350 million. Planned as the main platform for the formation, instruction and training of future helicopter pilots of the Earth Army.
– H135 helicopter: 42 million. Substitution in two phases of all light helicopters that until now are operating the armed forces by the H135 helicopter.
– Substitute for Casa-212: 50 million. Replacement for obsolescence of the Casa C-212 Aviocar aircraft of the Military Parachute School Méndez Parada and Ala 37. These aircraft have as its main role the support for the paratrooper courses of the Military Parachute School.
– Tactical Radio System: 350 million. The joint tactical radio system (SCRT) provides the communications capacities necessary to guarantee safe information exchanges.
-– Multidisciplinary connectivity: 241 million. Communications system for military missions to provide the knowledge of the situation in a useful time to contribute to the decision -making process, transmission of orders and mission control.
– Radar Paz II image satellite: 200 million. The Space Earth Observation System (Seot) Paz II is a set of two new synthetic opening radar satellites (SAR).
– Multidisciplinary connectivity in air safety: 338 million. Modernize the 18 current army systems to a single system, allowing the control of the air battle in real time.
– Supply ship: 100 million. Replacement supply ship in combat (BAC) Patiño through the construction of a new ship according to the Cantabria model.
– Ratest generation hunting: 216 million game to continue participating in the new generation hunting project FCAS-NGWS.
– SUPPORT vehicle CHAINS: 200 million for a multipurpose chain vehicle that replaces the armored oroused (TOA) transport.
– Modernization of frigates: 225 million for the modernization of average life of the Álvaro de Bazán Frigates.
– Self -propelled obe: 300 million. Acquisition of a self-propelled Obus system (ATP) of wheels and replacement of the Obus ATP of M-109 A5 chains of the Earth Army.
Ammunition and explosives: 564.98 million for the increase in the ammunition and explosive reserve corresponding to the armies and the Navy, following NATO strategic reserve criteria.
– Oceanic hydrographic ship: 60 million. Multidisciplinary ship, to develop hydrographic capacity in any scenario, national or international.
– Wheel launcher vehicle: 116 million to acquire 116 Lanked Vehicles VLP wheels as support for mobility to the units endowed with wheel combat vehicles (8×8 Dragon).
