The end of the Abanca Ademar Carlos Álvarez, who after many days leading the list of maximum filmmakers of the Asobal Plenitude League has seen how the lateral veteran of the Fraikin Granollers, Antonio García, prefers to focus on this end of the season on the collective achievements, rather than individual recognition, as he told Efe.
“Undoubtedly every player likes to get individual achievements and it would be a great illusion to be able to repeat this distinction of top scorer, but as it has always been, it is not an obsession for me, the truly important thing would be to get with the team to close the season in the best way and place him again in Europe,” the Galician player told Efe.
Distribute the goals
Álvarez, who has lived a particularly exciting year, after placing himself on the list for the World Cup with the ‘Hispanics’ at the last moment for the injuries of his classmates in the team and debuting in this great competition, has lost in this second round of the season a certain scoring prominence in the Ademarist set before the emergence of other weapons in the team led by Dani Gordo.
“It is clear that when other colleagues contribute more in attack, it affects the rest, but it is very positive that the danger with other players can be distributed because it complicates things to the rivals,” says Álvarez, who has also lost some reliability in the transformation of maximum penalties that has deprived him of gaining his number of goals, placing five of the ex -ademarist Antonio García who struggles, in the year of his farewell, for this award.
“It is undoubtedly one of the referents of Spanish handball and it is a pride to be with him and other players in the classification of maximum scorers that he deserves as the one that is the most, when he is his farewell, but it is clear that the rivals also study you your strengths and weaknesses and it is increasingly difficult to surprise them,” he says.
Trust
However, the Galician end has always been characterized by the enormous variety of releases, the last one starred in the last day against the Benidorm Servigroup with a goal in the air on their backs after receiving a ball hanging on the area to get somewhat important in the final stretch.
“They are things that do not train, that simply give them the confidence they have in you, and you can try anything and improvise on the march, but the truth is that sometimes they come out and also involves taking an important step to ensure victory and other times you don’t have so much fortune,” he summarizes.
Álvarez, who aspires to appear again, as last season, in the seven ideal of the League -he has already been chosen among the five candidates -, he is having to face the final stretch of the League with discomfort, after the coup received in the posterior area of the left leg in Nava and, previously, the injury he drags from the Huesca party in the right foot that has to be sold for each encounter.
“It is about enduring until the end while you can, more if possible after the most serious injuries of other colleagues – Van Popovic, Álex sludge and Rodrigo Pérez – that will be lost what remains of the season and you have to try to add while you can seek the objectives,” he concludes.
