The San Juan League announced on Friday night that it resolved to modify the general regulation, adding an annex with two articles with the aim of fighting bets in local football.
The president of the Mother House of Local Football, Juan Valiente, made the announcement at a press conference that he provided from the headquarters of Entre Ríos Street.
According to his story, two articles were attached to the regulations, one that prohibits the use of the name, institutional image, logo, colors and distinctive signs of the league in virtual betting platforms and gambling. And another that prohibits the use of names, shields, logos, colors and any other identifying element of the clubs affiliated with the San Juan League on the mentioned platforms.
In case of breaching, Valiente mentioned that legal, administrative and disciplinary actions will begin.
-It should be remembered that the date that was going to be played this weekend was suspended following violence and the suspicion of bets, mainly because of what happened in the scandalous game between Desamparados and Peñarol.
“We have made this decision because we believe that it is the most convenient for the football of the province and the clubs, which although they are affected because the salaries must continue to pay and the fixed expenses do not stop, but we cannot allow, precisely, it will continue to be harmed by extra -sports events to the clubs themselves,” said Valiente.
“We are going to investigate everyone: referees, technical players and body. Because many times the leadership does not know these issues, he asks for explanations of why certain things happen,” he added.
“We are going to investigate with all possible means, seeking to banish this scourge that is punishable not only for the league but by the laws of our country,” he said later.
