The Mallorcan Carlos Moyá decided to open a sabbatical stage in his tennis career After eight years as coach of Rafa Nadal and fifteen as a professional. With the racket saved in its case, The Mallorcan extenist has taken a season as “detoxification” To enjoy the family and time that has stolen. And also, to pay more attention to Some of his hobbies, such as investing in the Wall Street bag.
“I am quite focused on the American bag for years (…) I love to follow it,” Moyá confessed this week in a colloquium in Madrid. Moyá, 48, left professional tennis in 2010, after winning Roland Garros in 1998 and about twenty ATP tournaments. Subsequently, he was appointed Captain of the Davis Cup at the end of 2013, although he was only one year after not getting the marked objectives.
In 2016, he became Nadal’s coach, whom he helped complete a dream record until his farewell in November last year.
Even being a player, Moyá understood that despite having kneaded a lot of money to the serve and the rest, he would have two thirds of his life without the racket, so it was necessary to guarantee economic solvency through finance.
“In Spain there is very little financial culture. It is something that you do not think at age 20, but it is very important for someone of this age to have someone next to you. The sides, but that money ends, “he says.
Therefore, it is necessary that the tennis players of the professional circuit dedicate a part of what they earn to invest in their future to have their backs covered. Moyá has been married since 2011 with actress Carolina Cerezuela, with whom he has three children, between 14 and 11 years old.
With his investments in Wall Street, the ex -host has achieved “an important mattress” of savings, although he acknowledges that from the arrival at the White House of Donald Trump, he does not win for shocks.
Despite the turbulence and Trump, he is determined to continue investing in the United States because his strategy is in the long term, without assuming excessive risks: “You have to have a stomach to know that there may be those descents, but if you have a strategy, you cling to it and trust if it has paid off in the past.”
“I don’t care who is (in the White House) Trump will be and then it will not be, and the US stock market will continue.
The purchase of shares is only one of the economic facets that Moyá has cultivated in recent years.
