The FBI finds 2,400 files about Kennedy’s murder and the government prepares its revelation

On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas, and since then his has been surrounded by mystery, suspicions and cross versions. Now, more than 60 years later, the FBI has found 2,400 new documents related to the case, which could mark a before and after in the contemporary history of the United States. What do these files contain and why their publication generates so much expectation?

The discovered documents are part of an executive order issued by former President Donald Trump, who seeks to release the latest secret records linked to Kennedy’s murder. Although millions of hidden files have still been declassified since the 90s, according to various investigations, they could contain key clues.

The FBI confirmed that the new files will be transferred to the National Archive and Registration Administration (NARA), in charge of the declassification . A part of them is expected to be available to the public in the short term, which revives the debate on the true scope of the conspiracy that would have surrounded the magnicide.

Although the content of the files has not yet been disclosed, the FBI hinted that they contain highly relevant information about the original research, including data on the surveillance that the CIA exerted on Lee Harvey Oswald, the main suspect of the murder.

One of the most intriguing points revolves around Oswald’s alleged before the murder, where he would have had contact with figures linked to the Soviet Union and Cuba. These meetings, so far little documented, could open new interpretive lines on possible international interests in crime.
