The City Council of Coxquihui announced the cancellation of the drill planned for May 5, 2025, as well as all types of mass event, as a preventive measure in the event of recent registered violence in the municipality, including the murder of the candidate for the municipal presidency, Germán Anuar Valencia.
Through an official statement, it was reported that the decision was taken by indications of the security units of the State of Veracruz, as well as federal authorities, with the objective of safeguarding the integrity and security of the population and attending public events.
The text indicates that the measure responds to the insecurity climate generated by the violent acts that occurred in recent days. Although the homicide of the applicant is not explicitly mentioned, it occurred in the immediate context to the notice.

Germán Anuar Valencia, known as “Napo”, was a candidate of Morena to the mayor of Coxquihui and was killed on April 29. So far no arrests related to the case have been reported.
