Real Madrid faces a critical situation in the Euroleague playoffs, needing to win three consecutive games to Olympiacos to reach the Final Four, something that has only been achieved once in the history of the tournament.
Paradoxically, it was Madrid himself in 2023 who traced a 0-2 against Partizán, culminating with an epic victory and then winning the title. Currently, the series is 2-0 in favor of Olympiacos, which already overcome comfortably in Madrid. The story does not favor the white team: of 31 qualifiers with disadvantage 0-2, only one was traced. In addition, no eighth classified has eliminated the first in this format.
Real Madrid now needs to match the series by winning the next two games at home and looking for a definitive triumph in Piraeus. Although the statistics are discouraging – 27 of 30 fifth matches have been won by the team with field advantage – recent experiences, including the surprising elimination of Barcelona at home in 2024, offer a small ray of hope to the team led by Chus Mateo.
