Most people would agree Zendaya had one of the best looks of the Met Gala 2025 last night. Her expertly tailored white suit and dramatic hat stole the show, perfectly encapsulating the night’s dress code, “Tailored For You,” and its dandy spirit.
For a Met Gala after-party at Casa Cipriani, Zendaya transitioned from her suited-up look into a red floral dress by designer Patrick Kelly.
The vintage gown was strapless and covered in sequins. It had a bold rose pattern in watermelon-red and deep maroon, which shimmered as Zendaya walked. With it, Z wore a burgundy-and-black feather shawl that she wrapped around her shoulders.
She finished the look with pointy red pumps, a matching manicure, diamond stud earrings, and a diamond ring. Her hair was styled into a slicked-back ballerina bun.
-Last year, Zendaya was one of the co-chairs for the Met Gala—the theme of which was “Garden of Time”—and she wore not one but three completely unexpected looks. With the help of stylist (and best friend) Law Roach, she always takes big swings at the Met Gala—I’m sure we all remember her light-up Cinderella look.
Her fits this year were not as loud, but just as sharp.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art explained that “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” “explores the importance of style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora, particularly in the United States and Europe.” And our favorite celebrities had very different interpretations of the theme on the carpet.
The art exhibit that accompanies this year’s gala opens on May 10.
