Jerusalem (EFE) .- The American ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, said Friday that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has ordered to introduce help in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible.
“President Trump has clearly said that one of the most urgent things that must happen is that between humanitarian aid in Gaza,” said the ambassador during a press conference in Jerusalem.
According to Huckabee, Trump has ordered his team to do “everything possible to accelerate” the process, and alluded to the recent announcement of the United States Department that a new private foundation will be in charge of distributing help in Gaza under a new scheme in which Washington and Israel work.
The help plan
The ambassador detailed the key points of this system, which is not yet underway, and said that it is based on the “efficient and safe” distribution of food to the Gazatí population “without Hamas being able to do it.”
Huckabee made it clear that the plan will not only need the support of governments, but of NGOs and humanitarian organizations around the world. He also assured that Israel will not be involved in the distribution of aid within the territory.
