On Saturday morning eight people were injured as a result of an impressive chain shock happened this morning at the ruta 7at the height of Luján, in which 15 vehicles were involved. A truck from the Gilense Leadergas company was also part of the chain collision.
According to the Luján Volunteer Fire team, which intervened in the operation, the accident occurred near the crossing with the ruta 192where 10 cars, 3 motorcycles and 2 trucks collided.
In the place also acted road safety and the Buenos Aires police. It is suspected that the low visibility due to the mist and the smoke of the burning of garbage in the area could have contributed to the incident.
The circulation in the direction of San Andrés de Giles was restricted. Major Guillermo Bustos, of the Luján Volunteer Fire team, said that the incident occurred around 8 am, meters from the crossing with Route 192.
Four mobiles, one of rescue and three ambulances participated in the operation. Eight wounded, including a child under 12, were transferred to the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Luján.
“Of the eight, three presented several polytrauma with sharp wounds. The minor had a facial and one cranium trauma; all aware,” Bustos said, in dialogue with Infobae. The rest of the injured had blows, but of less gravity.
As reported, it was not necessary to rescue trapped people, since all those involved were outside their vehicles at the time of the arrival of firefighters. Of the total wounded, three were in Moto and the others were occupants of the cars.
“When we arrived, we had a fog presence. Moreover, Route 192 – which passes on the highway – from early hours was closed because there was almost zero visibility,” added the oldest.
In that line, he pointed out that the people involved told firefighters that, at the time of the accident, the visibility in the area was very small.
