Christiane Endler stars in recreation of iconic adidas photo

Chilean goalkeeper Christiane Endler takes the place of a football legend in the new Adidas campaign, which recreates an iconic photo of the German brand

The sports brand adidas recreated one of the most iconic photos of the German giant, this time including the Chilean goalkeeper Christiane Endler.

It was in 2006 when the German company launched its campaign “Impossible is Nothing”which became one of the most applauded advertisements in sports.

In the commercial, the children José and Pedro improvise a game on a dirt field and call up players like Michael Ballack, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Kaká, Oliver Kahn, Franz Beckenbauer and Michel Platiniwho appear on the scene.

Well now, with the aim of reducing the number of girls who abandon the sport, and whose number is double that of boys, Adidas has relaunched the campaign photography.

This time, historical players continue to appear but stars of women’s football like Tiane join.

“Together we can help drive the future of women’s football, inspiring the next generation to continue playing and enjoying this beautiful game.”says the advertisement.

It is worth mentioning that, in the image, Christiane Endler replaces German Oliver Kahn. Even the historic captain of La Roja poses in a similar way to the one the German did in 2006.
