The 77th edition of the Tour de Romanda takes place today, Sunday, on its fifth and final day, a 150.8 kilometer stage starting and finishing in the Swiss city of Vernier, which should serve to crown the winner of the Spanish Carlos Rodríguez (Ineos Grenadiers).
The stage presents a moderately undulating profile with a total of 1,777 meters of elevation gain, which could favor sprinters or a small group in the fight for stage victory. In a circuit that the peloton will complete four times, the cyclists will find the Dardagny hill (3 Cat. with 1.6 km at 4%). The last of the four crossings will take place 21.5 km from the end.
After the turnaround that occurred this Thursday during the queen stage in the general classification of the Swiss round, Carlos Rodríguez will start with the leader’s yellow jersey. In his favor, the Granada cyclist has a 7-second lead over the Russian Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-Hansgrohe), 9 over the German Florian Lipowitz (Bora-Hansgrohe) and 21 over the Belgian Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal-Quick Step). ).
