Jordhy Thompson is experiencing a kind of rebirth in his young career with the FC Orenburg shirt. The striker trained in Colo Colo is shining in Russian soccer, this after all the domestic violence scandals that he experienced in Chile.
Despite this complicated background, Orenburg opted for his talent through a loan with an automatic purchase option in June. This will be made effective in exchange for 1.2 million dollars for 60% of his pass if he plays ten games.
Precisely that amount is nowhere near being completed, since Thompson has played nine games, seven in the Russian league and two in the cup. And Orenburg is already starting to raise that money.
This was made clear by Dmitry Andreev, the club’s sports director, who assured that they will make the purchase option effective just after some rumors emerged about a possible return of Thompson to Cacique.
“There is a clear amount indicated, so we will buy Jordhy Thompson in any case. No one can influence this situation. Regarding Jordhy’s pardon, the footballer will return to Chile when necessary. At home he will close his questions about this case,” declared Andreev in a conversation with the Sport24 media.
Thompson’s tenth game in Russia should take place this Monday, when Orenburg faces Rostov, a key duel for the former Colo Colo team to get out of the promotion positions.
