Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates), current pink jersey of the Giro d’Italia, described as a “great day” the fourth stage of the ‘Corsa Rosa ending in Andora, on a route that coincides with sections of the Milan-San Remo, an area also well known for the double winner of the Tour de France.
“Today was a great day for me and the team, although unfortunately Sebastin Molano fell, had to change bikes and we lost the sprint,” he explained.
Pogacar was unable to respond to Filippo Ganna’s (Ineos Grenadiers) attack at the foot of Capo Melle, as he was not in the best position at the time.
“When Filippo Ganna attacked I was in a very bad position to follow him… but today I enjoyed this Milan-San Remo. I knew the roads and I train often in this area,” he concluded.
