CHICAGO — Pinch-hitter Adley Rutschman hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth inning, Gunnar Henderson hit his 17th home run and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Chicago White Sox 6-4 on Friday.

Center fielder Colton Cowser robbed Tommy Pham of a solo home run for the final out. The Orioles got another close victory, a day after beating Chicago 8-6 in a game that ended with an infield fly ball and an obstruction.

Ryan O’Hearn doubled to start the eighth off John Brebbia, and Antony Santander walked with one out.

After Cowser was lined out, Rutschman got his tiebreaking single.

Andrew Benintendi dove to catch the ball. Santander ran from the start and narrowly beat the shot to make the score 6-4.

The Orioles thus won their second straight game, after being swept in three road games in St. Louis.

Henderson had a double and scored in the third. He hit a two-run homer off starter Chris Flexen for a three-run rally that made it 4-0 in the fifth inning.

For the Orioles, Venezuelan Santander was 0-for-3 with one run scored. Dominican Jorge Mateo 4-0.
