The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) announced the distribution of quotas for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

According to the list published by IWF, in Paris 2024 there will be 17 Latin weightlifters (13 women and four men), among which the presence of Tokyo 2020 medalists such as the Ecuadorian stands out. National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have exclusive authority over the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games. Therefore, the participation of each athlete in the Paris Games will depend on the selection of their NOC to represent their delegation in Paris 2024.

Venezuela will be the most represented Latin nation with five weightlifters (the limit is six, three per gender), followed by Colombia with four, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic with three each. Cuba and Mexico will each have a weightlifter in Paris 2024.

Dajomes, who in this Olympic cycle moved to the 81 kg category, closed the qualification period as the best weightlifter in her weight. She also highlighted her sister Angie Palacios (2nd at 71 kg) and the Colombian Yeison Lopez (2nd at 89 kg). Results that place them among the contenders for the podium.
