Beltré was called to three All-Star Games with Texas, while Young participated in seven editions in a Rangers uniform, ranking only behind Puerto Rican Iván Rodríguez (10) for the most in club history.

On July 13, the two former teammates will once again share an All-Star Game stage, although this time they will do so as managers of the 2024 Future Star Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Beltré will manage the American League Future club, while Young will do the same with the National League squad, in what will be the 25th edition of the Future Star Game. The duel scheduled for seven innings will feature the best prospects in the minors and will be played during All-Star Saturday starting at 4:10 pm ET.

Beltré spent eight of his 21 seasons in the majors with Texas, with whom he hit .305/.57/.509 during that period. He is one of just 33 players to have at least 3,000 hits – 1,277 of which were by the Rangers, including 199 home runs. The Rangers retired his No. 29 jersey in 2019 and he will be inducted to Cooperstown on July 21.

For his part, Young spent 13 seasons with the Rangers and had 2,230 hits, with an average of .301, winning the batting title in 2005 (.331). Young saw his number 10 retired by Texas in 2019 and leads the franchise in multiple categories, including games (1,823), hits (2,230), runs scored (1,085), bases reached (3,286) and games with two hits or more (651).
