PHOENIX — Kevin Newman and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit two-run doubles and the Arizona Diamondbacks extended their winning streak to four with an 8-5 victory Tuesday against the struggling San Francisco Giants.

Arizona received shocking news this day. Reliever Andrew Saalfrank was one of five players sanctioned for betting on games. The suspension was the talk of the clubhouse, but the Diamondbacks didn’t feel the effects on the field.

Newman hit his two-run double off Kyle Harrison (4-3) in the third and Gurriel hit his in a four-run seventh for Arizona. Venezuelan Gabriel Moreno also finished with two RBIs and Blaze Alexander had three of Arizona’s 13 hits, with one RBI.

Kevin Ginkel (4-1) allowed two hits in 1 1/3 innings in his first game since taking a hit right to the left knee Saturday against the Mets.

For the Giants, Puerto Rican Heliot Ramos 2-0. The Venezuelans Thairo Estrada 4-0, Wilmer Flores 2-1 with one scored, Luis Matos 3-1. Cuban Jorge Soler 4-0 with an RBI.

For the Diamondbacks, Dominican Ketel Marte was 3-for-4 with one run scored. The Venezuelans Gabriel Moreno 4-2 with one run scored and two RBIs, Eugenio Suárez 3-0. Cuban Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was 1-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs.
