Like every year, the French newspaper L’Équipe made a selection of the best promises of world football, and made a list of 30 outstanding young footballers from all over the planet. And within the payroll Claudio Echeverri was includedin another demonstration that River’s Inferiores are historically the best in Argentine soccer.
The Little Devil was left in the place 22and it is the only player Argentinian that is present in the list. At the same time, there are only three South Americans taken into account by the European media: the Brazilian Endrick (4th) and the Ecuadorian Kendry Páez (8th).
Echeverri, sold to Manchester City in approximately 25 million dollars but that continues on loan in River (a priori he would continue until the end of the year, but it is not ruled out that he stays six more months and plays in the Club World Cup), he has established himself as one of the figures of the team Martin Demichelis: carry three goals and three assists in 21 games disputed so far in 2024.
To make the list, L’Équipe took into account all footballers born after January 1, 2005, while the Chaco midfielder is one of the youngest in the national team, since he was born on January 2, 2006 ( is 18 years old).
In that sense, the best under 19 footballer in the world according to the French newspaper is the Spanish Lamine Yamal, a 16-year-old Barcelona star. Second was the Frenchman Warren Zaire-Emery, from PSG, and third was the Englishman Kobbie Mainoo, from Manchester United.
