Guatemala City, 10 Jun (AGN).- The Ministry of Education (Mineduc), through the General Directorate of Physical Education (Digef), inaugurated the 2024 School Sports Games, a space in which minors will be able to show your talents within the sport.
The duration of this sporting event will be from June 9 to November 22 of this year, when children and adolescents will be able to spread magic in the 13 disciplines that will be enabled on this occasion.
For this edition, Retalhuleu, Suchitepéquez, Quetzaltenango and Guatemala City will be the venues in which more than 8 thousand athletes will be participating, after executing the due municipal and departmental processes.
The 2024 School Sports Games start
In the midst of a sporting and festive atmosphere, the Digef authorities gave the starting signal for this sports festival that will continue throughout 2024. During this edition the categories will be divided into youth (13 sports, 15-17 years) and children (5 sports, 10-12 years), while for students with disabilities there will be the child-youth category (12-15 years) and youth (16-19 years). .
Throughout the development of the games, there will be logistical support from various institutions, which will allow the sporting event to take place normally, in a healthy and safe environment:

- local municipalities
- Departmental Governments
Disciplines
Students from the different educational establishments in the country will be able to participate in the following disciplines:

Likewise, there will be three sports for parathletes with disabilities:
