The final of Colombian Professional Soccer is played on and off the fields, because after the first leg, held on Saturday between Atlético Bucaramanga and Independiente Santa Fe, a controversy has broken out due to the presence of visiting fans in the second leg. , in which the president of Santa Fe and the mayors of Bogotá and Bucaramanga have already been involved.

It all started the next day, when the president of the capital club publicly denounced an attack in the midst of the invasion that occurred by Bucaramanga fans at the end of the match.

Due to this alleged attack, Eduardo Méndez, president of Santa Fe, announced that there would be no tickets for visiting fans at Nemesio Camacho El Campín in the second leg, however, The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán indicated last Monday that there would be entry for the visiting fans.

However, this Tuesday, June 11, Méndez stated in an interview for Caracol Radio that if entry is approved for visiting fans, they will have to pay the most expensive ticket.

“If there are Bucaramanga fans in the final, they would pay the most expensive ticket. By fair logic. “They charged our fans 265,000 pesos in a sector where it is customary to pay approximately 30,000 or 40,000,” was the explanation of the president of Santa Fe in the radio interview.

Given these words, the mayor of Bucaramanga rejected Méndez’s claims, describing the measure as unfair, in addition to accusing the manager of breaking an alleged agreement.

“Charging almost 500 thousand pesos per ticket from Atlético Bucaramanga fans is unfair, and even more so when the agreement between clubs and bars was established at 265 thousand for each visiting fan,” was what the mayor of the capital of Santander, Jaime Andrés Beltrán, wrote in his X account.

In addition to this, he stated that a fan who behaved up to standard and received the capital’s fans with kindness and respect is being stigmatized.
