Universidad Católica confirmed this Tuesday afternoon its first reinforcement for the second half of 2024, this is the return of a central defender who played for Los Cruzados between 2019 and 2022, where he won three national titles.
Through its social networks, Católica reported the return of central defender Valber Huerta, from Toluca in Mexico, who joins the squad for at least two years.
“Valber Huerta, new reinforcement 2024! We have sealed the bond with the defender for two years, and thus a multi-time champion returns to Los Cruzados! We wish you much success in this new stage with Cato!” Cruzados reported on their X account.
After the announcement of the signing, the president of Cruzados SADP – the concessionaire that manages the CDUC football branch – Juan Tagle, valued the hiring: “He won’t come back to his house again! Let’s continue achieving degrees at UC! Welcome Valber!”
During his previous time at Universidad Católica, Valber Huerta played more than 120 games, winning the 2019, 2020 and 2022 Super Cups, in addition to the 2019, 2020 and 2021 national championships.
For the second round of the national championship, each team can make three additions, and a fourth in case of selling a player abroad for a significant sum of money. So now Los Cruzados will focus on other positions to hire, especially in the midfield.
