Florian Wirtz, footballer of the German national football team, assured this Wednesday at a press conference that he does not want to be compared with his teammate Musiala as the “new Podolski and Schweinsteiger” because, Although both were “idols of the past”, he now prefers to be remembered for his own qualities and abilities on the field of play.

“They are idols of the past and we are happy to be compared to them. But we don’t want to be the new Podolski and Schweinsteiger. We are different types of players and we try to bring our qualities to the field. But it’s an honor to be compared to them,” Wirtz said.
The Bayer Leverkusen player also spoke about the debut of Germany, which will open the Eurocup this Friday facing Scotland. Wirtz assured that he believes his team has adapted “well” to his rival’s way of playing and commented that he knows what he wants to do “and how to approach it.”
